Vivacell 100

Ultramicro balances Cubis®

Vivacell 100 is the latest addition to the Vivacell product line: A disposable ultrafiltration unit for the concentration of samples up to 98 ml that can be used either in a centrifuge or for pressure filtration. Vivacell 100 thus combines the ease of use of centrifugal devices with the flexibility and control provided by pressurized ultrafiltration cells. Vivacell 100 is easy to assemble, requires no tubing connections or stirring mechanisms and can be adapted to equipment availability or to specific user preferences. For convenience, the units are simply spun in a large capacity centrifuge (carriers accepting 250ml bottles). For even faster concentration, particularly with difficult samples, the device can be pressurized with air or inert gas before centrifuging. For better process control or for handling of single samples, gas pressure can be combined with gentle orbital shaking. For highest simplicity of use with minimum equipment requirements, the device is pressurized and then left standing on a bench top or in a refrigerator. The concentrator features a vertical membrane that minimizes fouling, while the built-in deadstop of 350 µl will prevent concentration to dryness.

  • Easy to handle

  • High flux PES membrane

  • Vertical membrane desingn for ultra fast concentration

  • High retentate recovery > 90 %

  • Total process flexibility

  • Universal rotor compatibility

Next Generation
Like the smaller Vivacell 70 unit, the new Vivacell 100, when used as a centrifugal device, fits into swing bucket rotors accepting 250 ml bottles. For single samples or for samples that have to be refrigerated, Vivacell 100 units can be pressurized and left on the bench, put on a laboratory shaker for faster concentration, or be transferred to a refrigerator. Handling is made fast and easy by the use of quick-connectors. In whichever mode Vivacell 100 is used, the vertical membrane design inhibits membrane fouling, whereas the built-in dead stop prevents concentration to dryness and loss of sample.
